Primal

Your instincts are so primal
Only satisfying what your body craves
Never mind what your heart yearns for
That will come in time.

Your deeds are so primal
Acting on the first thought
Pay no heed to others emotions
They dont matter anyway.

All your being is so primal
No thought or emotion links you
To the other people around
You're like a cave man.

So Neanderthal go your own way,
Pay no heed to what I say.
Act like it will always turn out okay,
Ignore your faults and never make
An attempt to change your fate.

Backstage

An organized chaos of
makeup, hairspray,
glitter, red lipstick,
costumes, and nervous
women talking
simultaneously.

Clusters form, bonds
are made, jokes
are exchanged,
stories swapped,
advice given, and
friends reaffirmed.

Streamers, mirrors,
hangers, garment
bags, makeup kits,
the rare chair,
the secret food
and drinks.

All backstage
before the
stage manager
calls

"PLACES!!"
