A creepy man watches me intently
From the table next to mine
I wonder, can he tell what I write
Just to pass my time?
Can he discern from so far aloft
What it is I ken,
In my small green notebook
With my leaky pen?

The Verizon guy looks bored to death
surrounded by his prison
I wonder that he's there at all
There seems to be no reason.
For all potential customers pass
Without a second thought,
Too busy with their secret plans
To admire what could be bought.

The creepy man has left me now
To join his beckoning wife
I wonder if she knows her spouse
Seems to lead a double life.
The Verizon guy had been relieved
And seems to be off to lunch
I wonder if his replacement
Will have a luckier touch.
